Fashion Shoot/Vintage Photography

This past Friday was a great day!  I got to hang out with an amazing bunch of women and take  pictures!  What a better way to spend a Friday? 

This shoot was for an Etsy sellers website, The Krickets Jewel.   In order to bring higher profits, she wanted more professional photos.  The way a garment looks on the human form is so much different then the way it looks on a hanger!  Take the follow two pictures for example.

The outfits on the hanger look really, ummmmm in nice terms, ugly.  You can not imagine wearing this!  But once you actually see it on a person, you can see how cute it can look!

 

All the models were amazing, we laughed so much.  I can't wait to do it again.

ENTWINED: hair adornments by Duong + Crystal

A couple of months ago I was contacted by a friend of a friend from facebook about shooting her handcrafted hair pieces.  I check out her page (link here) and um hello!  YES!  Her past pieces were so original and well designed I was super excited to work with her on this.  Now I kicked around the idea of just shooting the pieces, like on a tree branch or on the ground in a bed of flowers, but that would be so ordinary, why not get two beautiful models involved and get to play dress up??  So I sent out a status update and within 5 minutes had the two best models I've ever photographed agree to help out with this shoot.
Now I admit, I should have taken a few more of just the pieces, looking back, one of my favorite photos is just of one necklace laying across the hand rail of a wooden deck, but I'll know for next time.
I was able to really play with the "vintage" edits I've been longing to do on these photos!
